The Browns have sustained yet another injury to their defensive line.

The club placed defensive end John Hughes on injured reserve/designated for return Monday, according to the NFL’s transactions. According to multiple reports, Hughes suffered a knee injury in the Browns’ 23-13 victory over Oakland on Sunday.

The 26-year-old Hughes started at left defensive end on Sunday in place of Phil Taylor, who has missed the last three games after knee surgery. The Browns were also without defensive end Billy Winn, who has been inactive for three straight games because of a quadriceps injury.

The Browns filled Hughes’ roster spot with tight end Ryan Taylor, whom they were awarded on waivers from Baltimore. His addition gives the Browns a little more depth with Jordan Cameron suffering a concussion on Sunday. Taylor (6-3, 254) has appeared in five games this season, all with Green Bay, which waived the 26-year-old Taylor earlier this month.
