On the same day the Chargers released cornerback Richard Marshall, the team has agreed to add another corner to the roster.

The Chargers have reached a deal with former Washington cornerback Richard Crawford, Michael Gehlken of the San Diego Union-Tribune reported on Monday.

The 24-year-old Crawford was a seventh-round pick of Washington in 2012. He played 10 games as a rookie, notching 18 tackles and intercepting one pass. He missed the 2013 regular season with an ACL tear.

Crawford (5-11, 192) was waived by Washington at the end of the 2014 preseason. Washington re-signed him on Sept. 29, and he was on the roster for the Oct. 6 loss to Seattle, but he was among the club’s inactives. Washington waived him two days later.

The Chargers’ agreement with Crawford comes with rookie cornerback Jason Verrett dealing with a shoulder injury and Brandon Flowers missing Week Eight with a concussion.
