Packers go for it on fourth-and-goal, go up 7-0 on Bears

The Packers threw a few new wrinkles at the Bears early.

The Packers got on the board first, converting a fourth-and-goal for a touchdown pass to tight end Brandon Bostick for a 7-0 lead over the Bears. It was Bostick’s second catch of the season, as he has a hard time getting work among Aaron Rodgers’ many targets.

The Packers also opened the game with a new look on defense, sliding outside linebacker Clay Matthews inside.

While they’re deeper outside than inside (Nick Perry started in Matthews’ normal spot), it also puts Matthews in a role which could diminish his impact.

It didn’t hurt the Packers on their first drive, but we’ll see how it develops.
