Stop me if you’ve heard this one before: An NFL prime time game is a blowout.
The Panthers are taking an ugly beating at the hands of the Eagles tonight, with Philadelphia jumping out to a 31-7 lead late in the second quarter.
Eagles quarterback Mark Sanchez has missed some throws -- he’s completed just 10 of 21 passes so far -- but when he’s been on he’s been hitting big gains. Sanchez has 182 yards and a touchdown. Darren Sproles is also having a big game for the Eagles, with an eight-yard rushing touchdown and a 65-yard punt return touchdown.
For the Panthers, turnovers are a huge problem. DeAngelo Williams fumbled on the first drive and Cam Newton has thrown two interceptions, the second of which was returned by Bradley Fletcher for a 34-yard touchdown.
It’s probably safe to turn off the TV and go to bed early tonight.
