The Buccaneers will again be without tailback Doug Martin.

Martin (ankle) has been declared out of Sunday’s game at Washington, Scott Smith of Buccaneers.com reported Friday.

Martin has not played since the Buccaneers’ 19-13 overtime loss to the Vikings on October 26. He went through a limited practice on Thursday, but his injury, while healing, continues to linger, Buccaneers coach Lovie Smith indicated, according to Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times.

With Martin out, Bobby Rainey, Charles Sims and Mike James are the Buccaneers’ backs for Sunday. Sims and Rainey both got 10 touches in the Week 10 loss to Atlanta, with Sims carrying eight times for 23 yards and catching two passes for 17 yards and Rainey rushing for 6-14-0 and catching 4-42-0. James, meanwhile, rushed for 16 yards on four carries.

From a play count perspective, however, Rainey got the most work, receiving 44 snaps compared to 23 for Sims and five for James.
