Jets coach Rex Ryan has reportedly been fined $100,000 by the NFL for using profanity on his way off the field after his team’s 20-13 win over the Steelers in Week 10.
He wasn’t the only member of the organization to hear from the league this week. PFT has confirmed with the league that quarterback Michael Vick and linebacker Jason Babin have also been fined.
Vick was fined $8,268 for an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty in the fourth quarter of the game for flipping the ball at Steelers cornerback William Gay after Gay tackled him on a scramble. The flag was not met with approval by Ryan, who picked up an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty of his own for expressing his displeasure with the call.
Babin was fined $16,537 for a late hit on Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger in the second quarter. Babin hit Roethlisberger after the play had been whistled dead for a delay of game violation by the Steelers, but Babin said after the contest that he heard only a faint whistle.
