Buffalo blizzard is a lot worse than the usual Western New York snow

Snow

The first reaction of many (well, at least of me) to the news of a snowstorm in Buffalo was: It’s Buffalo. It snows there.

But this specific Buffalo snowstorm apparently puts all other Buffalo snowstorms to shame.

As explained by Peter King of TheMMQB.com in a series of tweets, four feet fell on Orchard Park on Tuesday. On Thursday, up to another three feet will land on top of the four already on the ground. (If my math is correct, and it rarely is, that’s seven feet of snow.)

“I’ve been here 26 years. This is the toughest weather I’ve ever seen here,” Bills senior V.P. of communications Scott Berchtold told King.

Already, 220,000 tons (440 million pounds) of snow have been removed from the property on which Ralph Wilson Stadium is located. With a driving ban in place, players won’t be able to get to work today.

Which means that the team’s injury list of Wednesday will include every player as not practicing, with “snow” in parentheses after their names.
