Calvin Johnson rests ankle, with no mention of elbow

Calvin

As the Lions prepare to head to New England and avoid their first two-game losing streak of the season, receiver Calvin Johnson has once again missed a Wednesday practice due to his lingering ankle injury.

But Johnson didn’t practice last Wednesday either, before returning for the rest of the week and playing on Sunday. So the next big question is whether Johnson will practice tomorrow.

One question that was answered on Wednesday is whether and to what extent Johnson has an injured elbow. He received treatment on the elbow after Sunday’s loss in Arizona, but Johnson said he’d be fine. He apparently is; “elbow” isn’t listed as a reason for not practicing.

Meanwhile, running back Reggie Bush returned to practice on a limited basis. Bush has been battling an injured ankle throughout much of the season. He sat out Sunday’s loss, which may have been one of the reasons for the team’s failure to score more than six points.
