The Falcons are currently in first place in the NFC South and their bid to go from 2-6 to a playoff team could get a boost from the return of safety William Moore in the near future.

Moore is currently on injured reserve with the designation to return as a result of a shoulder injury and is eligible to resume practicing with the team, something that will happen this week. The Falcons officially listed Moore as “returned to practice” on Tuesday’s league transaction report, freeing him to get back on the field with a couple of weeks to work his way back into form before he’s eligible to play in Week 13.

Kemal Ishmael has been filling in on the back end of the defense with Moore out of the lineup. Neither Ishmael nor anyone else on the unit has been able to keep the Falcons from allowing the most passing yards per game in the entire league,

Moore’s return probably won’t make for a major change on that front, but the more options the better for the Falcons as they try to take advantage of a down year in the division.
