The 49ers have until Dec. 9 to see if linebacker NaVorro Bowman can return this season.
And they’re willing to wait another week to see if he can.
According to Matt Maiocco of CSNBayArea.com, 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh said Bowman won’t practice this week.
Bowman, who blew out his knee last year during the NFC Championship Game, was eligible to return to practice last week. But the 49ers have decided to wait before activating him from the physically unable to perform list.
He’s had an MRI which was declared “fine,” and spent last weekend visiting Dr. James Andrews.
As long as they have something to play for, they’re going to continue to wait, and could even put him on the 53-man roster and deactivate him each week until he’s ready.
