Roethlisberger says his wrist isn’t broken

Roethlisberger

Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger suffered an obvious injury to his hand on Sunday, when he banged it against the arm of Saints linebacker Curtis Lofton. Amid at least one report that Roethlisberger has a broken wrist, a source with direct knowledge of the situation contends that Roethlisberger is fine.

Moreover, Roethlisberger has said that himself. And that’s an ironic twist for a guy with a history of publicly overstating his injuries.

After Sunday’s loss, Roethlisberger insisted that the injury didn’t affect his throws. He told reporters on Wednesday that he simply lost feeling in two finger, that the feeling returned, and that he’s good to go.

We’ll see if the injury reports mesh with that explanation. Even if they do, cameras will be focused on his wrist and hand for signs that anything may be amiss in Cincinnati on Sunday.
