During the offseason, wide receiver Andre Johnson kept his distance from the Texans in hopes of getting traded to another team because he wasn’t sure the franchise was headed in the right direction.

Johnson isn’t planning a reprise after the 2014 season. Johnson has played 12 games for new head coach Bill O’Brien and that seems to have alleviated any uncertainty about where things are going in Houston.

“I always want things to work out here. I’ve always wanted that,” Johnson said, via the Houston Chronicle. “I don’t want to play for nobody else. I have been here for 12 years. I don’t even think it would feel right. I have seen everybody come into this locker room and leave out. Trainers, ... stars, coaches -- I have seen it all. [My] locker has been here the longest. I couldn’t imagine how it would feel to put on another uniform, so hopefully I’ll be able to be here.”

Johnson, who is eight catches away from 1,000 for his career, said he wants to play for 15 years. He hasn’t put up the gaudiest numbers this year as the Texans have shuffled through Ryan Fitzpatrick and Ryan Mallett at quarterback, but he’s still been productive and could move into a role alongside DeAndre Hopkins as he winds down his career.
