The Cardinals are getting back one of their defensive starters for the stretch run.
The club has removed outside linebacker Matt Shaughnessy from injured reserve/designated for return, the team’s website said Friday.
The 28-year-old Shaughnessy has started 16-of-20 games since joining Arizona in 2013, recording 45 tackles and three sacks.
The Cardinals also added some depth at tailback, calling up Kerwynn Williams from the practice squad. The 23-year-old Williams was on the Cardinals’ active roster for the Nov. 9 win vs. St. Louis.
In corresponding roster moves Friday, the Cardinals released tailback Michael Bush and tight end Matthew Mulligan. Bush joined the Cardinals on November 25, while Mulligan signed on November 18. Neither had appeared in a game for 9-3 Arizona, which hosts Kansas City on Sunday.
