Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh has been a very durable player during his career, but even he can’t avoid the dangers of the cold and flu season.

Suh missed Thursday’s practice because of an illness that Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press reports has been making its way through the organization this week. Linebacker Josh Bynes also missed Thursday’s practice because he’s feeling under the weather.

Running back Reggie Bush got back on the field after missing Wednesday’s practice to rest the ankle that’s been bothering him for a while.

Birkett reports that this is the first time that Suh has ever missed a Lions practice for health-related reasons. Suh has only missed two games as a pro and they came as a result of his 2011 suspension for stepping on former Packers offensive lineman Evan Dietrich-Smith.

Barring a turn for the worse, it seems that streak will continue against the Vikings in what could be his final home game as a member of the team.
