The Jets aren’t the only ones bringing in consultants these days.

According to Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News, the Falcons are working with former Eagles and Browns exec Joe Banner these days.

Banner’s apparently talking to owner Arthur Blank about stadium and business issues, rather than football.

While that make you wonder about the future of team president Rich McKay, the more immediate questions have been about General Manager Thomas Dimitroff and coach Mike Smith.

Those two inherited a franchise that never had back-to-back winning seasons for nearly 40 years, then strung together five of them. But the last two years have been a disaster, as a top-heavy salary cap and injuries undid them.

Of course, the Falcons could also win their division and advance to the playoffs with a win Sunday against the Panthers. And that might leave Banner talking to Blank about stadium and business issues only.
