Sticking with the status quo was the organizational message from the Giants after their 6-10 season, but some change is inevitable in an NFL offseason.

The Giants found a way to make one change look a lot status quo. Quarterbacks coach Danny Langsdorf left the Giants to become the offensive coordinator at the University of Nebraska and the team announced that he’ll be replaced by Mike Sullivan, who was Eli Manning’s quarterbacks coach in 2010 and 2011.

“Mike Sullivan is a quality football coach and is an outstanding positional coach and did a great job for us as a receiver coach and as a quarterbacks coach,” Coughlin said, via the team. “He was the first thought that I had and we were fortunate in that the timing was right to get him back here. We’re very pleased to be able to bring him back home.”

Sullivan’s last gig was as offensive coordinator with the Buccaneers and it ended when he was let go along with Greg Schiano after the 2013 season.

Sullivan has never worked with McAdoo, but said that he hit it off during a phone conversation with the coordinator and his familiarity with Manning should make for a quick transition back to his old gig.
