Report: Scott Linehan reaches deal with Cowboys

Scott Linehan

While Bill Callahan is set to check out his available options on the coaching market, the Dallas Cowboys have wrapped up another deal with a key member of their coaching staff.

According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, the Cowboys have agreed to terms with Scott Linehan to remain their passing game coordinator.

Linehan joined the Cowboys last season after five season as the offensive coordinator for the Detroit Lions. Tony Romo posted his most efficient season of his career in Dallas under Linehan. Romo completed 69.9 percent of his passes for 3,705 yards with 34 touchdowns, only nine interceptions and a league-leading 113.2 passer rating.

If Callahan doesn’t return to Dallas, Linehan could make a pretty seamless transition into the full offensive coordinator role as well.
