Getty ImagesAs the Ravens look for a new offensive coordinator, they’re talking to the guy their old one effectively replaced.
According to Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun, the Ravens are interviewing former Broncos offensive coordinator Adam Gase tonight.
The interview’s taking place in Baltimore, before the coaching staff heads to Arizona for the Pro Bowl.
Gase talked to his old bosses in Denver, but they hired former Ravens play-caller Gary Kubiak instead.
Gase has had interest all over the map, with the Bears, Raiders and Jaguars all in play at some level. But Baltimore might be quickest fix for a guy looking to polish up a resume before future head coaching interviews.
As long as it’s not Doug Marrone, that quitter
Thumbs up if Gase is a really good OC.
Thumbs down if he’s a decent OC and Peyton Manning made him who he is.
I would really like to know. As a Ravens fan I just want a good OC…
Of course, it’s hard to know what you have in Gase. Manning does so much of what a normal OC does, but I’m sure working with Manning has been great training for Adam. Good luck!
Ravens are use to having to find an OC every year.
If they hire Gase, he’ll be 1 and done, as well.
aint’ there someone on the staff joe likes that we can just move up. can’t evaluate a OC with Payton at QB. Huge Risk.
Kubiak wasn’t the reason Flacco got better. The offensive line and balance on offense did. As much as I hate to say it Flacco is a decent qb not bad or great but decent and in the playoffs he’s lethal. Doesn’t matter who his offensive coordinator is as long as it isn’t Cam Cameron he’s the equivalent of doodie.
Fade got the Broncos to the playoffs getting the best out of Tim tebow.
About time the Ravens get someone young at OC.
Go for it. Ravens are a great organization!
Agreed that it would be interesting to see what some younger blood and a more aggressive attitude will do for Ravens.
But I’m hesitant to believe anyone can improve Flacco’s mental ability. He’s got all the physical tools but just seems too “dense” to understand what’s going on around him.
I think a receiver coach would really help. The receivers just don’t run good routes. Maybe that’s them. But since it’s ALL of them… I’d have to blame coaching. The fakes and double moves are never fully sold, so the defense rarely buys them. oh, how I long for the days of Derrick Mason absolutely dominating the sides of the field with precise routes.
When he was making his pros and cons list for the ravens gig, I’m sure the “against” column read:
1. Timmons
2. Shazier
3. Shamarko
4. Tuitt
5. Flacco
This Would be a win win for the Ravens IMHO. Not only would they be getting a fine OC but a possible replacement in a few seasons when Harbaugh may just step down or something.
