Fourth Super Bowl win for Brady will only spark more debate on game’s best-ever QB

Brady

After the Patriots’ victory in Super Bowl XLIX, wide receiver Julian Edelman called quarterback Tom Brady “the best” to have played the position.

Edelman also gave some interesting and detailed reasoning for his decision.

“I’m a big Joe Montana fan. I love him to death,” Edelman said, according to an NFL-issued transcript of his postgame remarks. “I thought he was the best and everything. He won four, he’s undefeated in four, but they didn’t have a salary cap back then. He had some great players around him. He had some great defenses and all that.

“Tom Brady came out here, he’s been to six Super Bowls. He’s won four with the salary cap. It’s hard to argue against that.”

For similar reasons, PFT’s Michael David Smith believes the Patriots’ sustained run of success is unmatched in NFL history.

But back to the quarterbacks. Let’s open this up to PFT Planet, because we’re curious for your take. Is Tom Brady the best quarterback to played the game, or is it another passer? Perhaps you prefer Montana, who led four Super Bowl-winning clubs for San Francisco in the 1980s. Maybe Peyton Manning is your guy.
