Andrew Luck played for a team selected by Cris Carter at the Pro Bowl and the quarterback will be playing with another member of the Carter family in 2015.

Cris’s son Duron was making the rounds as a free agent after two seasons as a productive wideout for the Montreal Alouettes and reports last week indicated that the Colts would land his services. That became official on Monday when the Colts announced that they signed the younger Carter.

Duron Carter is 6-foot-5 and 205 pounds and his size was mentioned by General Manager Ryan Grigson as a big reason why he’s now in Indianapolis.

“His length is what jumps out right off the bat and his ability to make the big play with that length in a variety of ways,” Grigson said, via the team’s release. “He has very good quickness and wiggle for his size and has excellent ability to adjust to the ball in air.”

The Colts will return T.Y. Hilton and Donte Moncrief from this year’s receiving corps. Reggie Wayne and Hakeem Nicks are going to be free agents and the way things play out on those fronts will help determine how much playing time Carter sees in his first NFL season.
