The Panthers weren’t able to land Norv Turner a few years ago when they were looking for a new offensive coordinator, but they keep picking up the branches of his family tree.
Via Joe Person of the Charlotte Observer, the Panthers are hiring Cameron Turner as an assistant wide receivers coach.
Cameron has been working with his father Ron at Florida International the past two seasons.
The Panthers used to have Cameron’s cousin Scott helping on offense, until he left to work with his father Norv on the Browns staff for a year, before they went to the Vikings.
Cameron Turner played at The Citadel. He’ll work with Panthers receivers coach Ricky Proehl.
