The Lions will reportedly allow one of their restricted free agents to potentially test unrestricted free agency.

According to Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press, Detroit won’t tender linebacker Josh Bynes as a restricted free agent, though it does want to re-sign him at a lower cost.

The lowest RFA tender for 2015 is $1.323 million, per the Free Press.

The 25-year-old Bynes played 13 games for the Lions in 2014, notching 22 tackles. Detroit signed him off of Baltimore’s practice squad in September. Bynes (6-1, 240) started nine combined games for the Ravens from 2012 through 2013.

Teams have until March 10 to tender restricted free agents.
