A recent Jets assistant is joining the Eagles’ coaching staff.
Philadelphia has hired Brian Smith as assistant linebackers coach, the club announced Wednesday morning.
Smith had spent eight seasons with the Jets (2007-2014). He was the club’s assistant defensive backs coach the last two seasons. Previously, Smith was an assistant at Massachusetts (2004-2006).
The addition of Smith gives the Eagles 23 assistants under head coach Chip Kelly.
