The Atlanta Falcons have managed to take care of a couple of contract extensions ahead of free agency next month.

The team announced they had signed defensive end Cliff Matthews and fullback Patrick DiMarco to new deals on Tuesday.

Matthews was set to become an unrestricted free agent when the new league year begins on March 10. DiMarco would have been a restricted free agent.

Matthews has appeared in 32 games and recorded 28 tackles for Atlanta over the past three seasons, playing primarily on special teams.

DiMarco has played in 35 games in his career, five with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2012 and 30 with Atlanta over the past two seasons. He doesn’t have a rushing attempt in his career, but has caught 17 passes for 111 yards and one touchdown.

In addition, the Falcons signed wide receiver Nick Williams to a free agent contract. Williams appeared in five games caught three passes for 15 yards in 2013.
