The Steelers have added a recent Jets draft pick to their roster.
Pittsburgh has signed ex-Clemson quarterback Tajh Boyd, the club said Friday.
A sixth-round selection of the Jets in 2014, Boyd (6-1, 222) completed 8-of-17 passes for 98 yards and one touchdown in the preseason. The club waived him at the end of the exhibition slate, and he was not in the NFL last season.
The 24-year-old Boyd joins Bruce Gradkowski and Landry Jones as backups to starter Ben Roethlisberger.
