Jerry Hughes re-signed with the Bills before hitting free agency and the player the Bills traded to Indianapolis to acquire him has also decided to stay put.

Linebacker Kelvin Sheppard plays in Miami after being released by the Colts last summer and multiple reports indicate he has re-signed with the team.

Sheppard took the roster spot of Dannell Ellerbe when Ellerbe went on injured reserve in September. Now he’ll be staying in Miami while Ellerbe and Philip Wheeler are expected to be moving along after two disappointing years with the team. Linebacker Jason Trusnik is also set to become an unrestricted free agent

Sheppard played 14 games, starting once, for the Dolphins last year and had 31 starts in his first three NFL seasons. Koa Misi and Jelani Jenkins are expected back at starting linebacker spots for Miami next season and Sheppard could be in the mix for a bigger role depending on how things shake out over the rest of the offseason.
