Seahawks re-sign defensive tackle D’Anthony Smith

In addition to reaching a deal with free agent Ahtyba Rubin, the Seattle Seahawks re-signed defensive tackle D’Anthony Smith on Thursday.

Smith missed the entire 2014 season while on injured reserve. Smith had a decent preseason for Seattle last year but landed on IR during the team’s cutdowns to 53 players at the end of training camp.

Smith was acquired in a trade with the Jacksonville Jaguars during final cuts prior to the start of the 2013 season. Smith appeared in two games for Seattle before being released. Smith was claimed off waivers by the Detroit Lions but was released after just a week. He was re-signed to the Seahawks practice squad and spent most of the remainder of the season there.

Smith has appeared in 10 games with 15 tackles in his career.
