Cam Newton has found a way to keep himself safe this offseason

There were plenty of times last year the Panthers probably wanted to put Cam Newton in bubble wrap.

So yesterday, he decided to do it himself.

The Panthers quarterback posted a video to Instagram of him hurling himself at friends, while wearing a giant inflatable plastic ball.

The bubble-suit-thing he’s wearing might have come in handy when he was getting ribs broken in the preseason, or suffering broken bones in his back during a late-season car wreck.

It doesn’t appear to have limited his mobility, but throwing the ball might be difficult in the get-up.

And if nothing else, it has to be safer than Tom Brady cliff diving, since Newton’s already wearing his own airbag/life raft.
