Linebacker Erin Henderson sat out the 2014 season, but he’ll have a chance to resume his career in 2015.

Dom Cosentino of NJ.com reports that the Jets have agreed to a contract with the veteran linebacker with a base salary of $745,000. Henderson was out of the league last year following his release by the Vikings in February. Minnesota parted ways with Henderson shortly after he was arrested twice on DUI charges in a short period of time.

Henderson pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge, which led the NFL to hand down a four-game suspension last September.

Henderson visited the Jets last week and had previous visits with the Chiefs and 49ers after spending last year getting treatment for his substance abuse issues. Before his release by the Vikings, he spent three years in the starting lineup at both outside and middle linebacker. He’s likely ticketed for a role inside with the Jets, where he and the recently signed Jamari Lattimore will provide depth behind David Harris and Demario Davis.
