Quarterback Teddy Bridgewater may have a familiar face joining him on the Vikings roster during the 2015 season.
Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that Louisville wide receiver DeVante Parker continued his pre-draft tour of NFL teams on Wednesday by paying a visit to Minnesota. The Vikings made Bridgewater a first-round pick in last year’s draft after he wrapped up his own career at Louisville and the two players hooked up for 55 receptions, 885 yards and 12 touchdowns during Bridgewater’s final collegiate season.
Parker followed that up with 43 catches for 855 yards last year and those numbers would have been a good bit higher had Parker not missed seven games with a foot injury. The injury hampered him early in the year, but his strong return to action along with his size and hands have left him rated just behind Amari Cooper and Kevin White as a prospective first-round pick.
At Parker’s pro day last month, he said he’d already met with the Vikings so Wednesday was a second visit. Parker said he’d also met with the 49ers, Chargers and Dolphins and the Jaguars were also added to the list this week. Rapaport adds the Jets, Bears, Browns and Titans as other interested parties, which suggests there’s a pretty good chance Parker’s going to be off the board before we’re too deep into the draft on April 30.
