The Colts signed linebacker Aaron Morgan to a futures contract as 2013 came to an end, but it looks like his career will come to an end before he suited up in a single game for the team.

Indianapolis announced Monday that they have placed Morgan on the reserve/retired list after he spent the entire 2014 season on injured reserve after he injured his shoulder a few days into training camp. While Morgan didn’t have much time on the field with the Colts, General Manager Ryan Grigson said recently that he liked what he saw in his limited time working with the team.

“He was lights out. He was lights out. In a 9-on-7 period, playing with a bad shoulder, he opened a lot of eyes with how he played,” Grigson said, via the team’s website. “He had a hellacious day that day.”

Morgan made the Jaguars as an undrafted free agent in 2010 and played 11 games with the team between 2010 and 2012. He played seven more games with the Bucs in 2012, but was out of the league in 2013.
