Broncos schedule visit with Cedric Ogbuehi

Offensive tackles from Texas A&M have gone early in the last two drafts and it looked like it would be three in a row this year when Cedric Ogbuehi decided to return to school for the 2014 season.

Ogbuehi was considered a potential first-round pick last year, but decided to head back to College Station after the school agreed to pay for an insurance policy that offered financial protection against a career-ending injury. Ogbuehi avoided that kind of injury, but tore his ACL in the Liberty Bowl to create some uncertainty about where he’ll wind up in the draft.

If the Broncos like what they see and hear during a visit with Ogbuehi, it could be the 28th overall pick. Mike Klis of the Denver Post reports that the Broncos will bring the former Aggie to their headquarters next Tuesday. The Broncos are looking to make some changes to their offensive line with head coach Gary Kubiak bringing his zone blocking scheme with him and a healthy Ogbuehi looked like a good fit for that system.

Ogbuehi has said he’ll be ready to go for the start of training camp, something that the Broncos will probably spend some time checking out when he’s in town. The Lions, who are up a few picks before the Broncos, have also met with Ogbuehi recently.
