The Dolphins had a few veteran offensive linemen in for visits on Wednesday and they’ve agreed to terms with one of them.

Agent Andy Simms announced Wednesday afternoon that his client Jeff Linkenbach has signed a one-year deal with Miami.

Linkenbach made three starts at guard for the Chiefs in 2014, his only season with Kansas City, and saw time at both guard and tackle during his four years with the Colts. With Branden Albert and Ja’Wuan James at tackle, he’ll likely be part of the mix of players vying for playing time on the interior.

The Dolphins have Billy Turner and Dallas Thomas pencilled in as their starting guards at the moment, but they’ve been meeting with offensive line prospects as part of the pre-draft process so there may be further additions to that competition before the offseason comes to an end. Linkenbach gives them some insurance in the event the draft doesn’t turn up the players they’d like,
