The Browns still might not have much in the way of quarterbacks, but they improved both lines tonight.

After taking defensive tackle Danny Shelton 12th overall, the Browns came back with Florida State center-tackle Cameron Erving.

Erving gives them some long-term cover for center Alex Mack, who can opt out of his deal after this season, and short-term versatility along the offensive line.

While those are both solid picks, it’s a far cry from the bold moves some thought they were trying to make, such as moving up for Marcus Mariota or trading for Sam Bradford.

Now, the Browns will go in with Josh McCown and Johnny Manziel and anyone who might come the rest of the weekend.

It’s far from sexy. But they’ve had sexy picks before, and you see where it got them.
