The Jaguars struck for the first running back of Day Two, selecting Alabama’s T.J. Yeldon with the No. 36 overall pick.
Yeldon (6-1, 226) racked up 979 yards and 11 touchdowns for Alabama in 2014. He will push for an immediate role in the Jaguars’ backfield, which was in need of a little more depth and play-making ability. His addition would seem likely to most affect Toby Gerhart’s reps and role.
The Jaguars have one pick in each of the last five rounds: No. 67 (Round Three), No. 103 (Round Four), No. 139 (Round Five), No. 180 (Round Six) and No. 220 (Round Seven).
