In the coming days, weeks and perhaps even months, there will be plenty of deep, thoughtful, and perhaps even remorseful responses from the Patriots about the findings of the Ted Wells report.
But for now, we have Rob Gronkowski.
Via Phil Perry of CSNNE.com, the Patriots tight end was tracked down by television reporters yesterday after the results of the Deflategate investigation were published.
And his response was exactly as you’d expect.
As reporters hurried after him, Gronk said nothing, but smiled and flexed his biceps as he continued to walk away.
Apparently, his statement was that while his quarterback may be implicated, he himself was deflated in no way.
UPDATE 10:14 a.m. ET: Gronk did elaborate to Bleacher Report, sending a poignant message as only he can.
I asked Florio where the line of appropriateness was in our documenting of it, and he suggested we stop at “Deez.”
