Last week on PFT Live on NBC Sports Radio, Buccaneers G.M. Jason Licht said that rookie quarterback Jameis Winston will be given “every opportunity” to start Week One against the Titans. On Thursday’s PFT Live on NBC Sports Radio, Titans G.M. Ruston Webster said the same thing about his own rookie quarterback, Marcus Mariota.
And getting “every opportunity” to start means getting the first-team reps throughout the offseason and training camp. While Webster didn’t make a blanket commitment to that approach, he acknowledged that’s the inclination, and he explained that a more definite decision will be made based on this weekend’s rookie minicamp.
