The St. Louis Rams signed receiver Daniel Rodriguez and long snapper Tyler Ott after participating in their rookie mini-camp last weekend.
According to Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com, Rodriguez and Ott were the only two players invited to join the Rams on a tryout basis. Both then earned their way into spots on the team’s 90-man roster.
Rodriguez, 27, is a similar story to Seahawks long snapper Nate Boyer. Rodriguez spent five years in the Army, earning a Purple Heart during his tenure, before returning to play football at Clemson.
Ott spent the 2014 preseason with the New England Patriots. He was re-signed by the Patriots in March but released last week.
