Dansby suspects foul play from 2008 game in New England

Browns linebacker Karlos Dansby joined PFT Live on NBC Sports Radio to promote Montez Renault, a new skin-care line he developed with former teammate Chris Butler. In so doing, Dansby had some interesting comments about the #DeflateGate controversy.

For starters, Dansby believes Patriots quarterback Tom Brady should be suspended for a full year, if deflation was happening and if he knew about it. Dansby also pointed out that he has separate suspicions about the Patriots.

In 2008, Dansby’s Cardinals faced the Patriots in New England during Week 16 of the 2008 season. The Patriots needed a win to keep their postseason hopes alive. And Dansby said the coach-to-headset communication system, which was first implemented by the NFL in 2008, didn’t function at Gillette Stadium during that snowy day in December.

“My headset was working fine, every game,” Dansby said. “Until the very last game of the year. We get in Foxboro, they couldn’t get my headset fixed, for nothing in the world.”

In that same game, Cardinals quarterback Matt Leinart also had trouble with his own headset. Leinart’s former backup at USC, Matt Cassel, three for 345 yards and three touchdowns in a 47-7 rout.

“I didn’t have not one problem until I went into Foxboro,” Dansby said. “You can ask anybody on that team that year. We didn’t have no problems with my headset until I got to Foxboro. And, man, I tell you every time I came to the sidelines, taking my helmet off trying to fix it. They was trying to fix it, they couldn’t get it fixed. So we had to give hand signals, and we were dead in the water. They ran when they wanted to run, they threw it when they wanted to throw.”

So I asked if it was accident or something deliberate?

“C’mon, man. C’mon,” Dansby said. “It’s not a secret. They gotta do what they gotta do to win, man. They gonna do what they gotta do to win. It’s just how they operate.”

Whether it’s perception or reality, the Patriots already had a hard time escaping that reputation after Spygate. With #DeflateGate, it becomes nearly impossible.

  1. Even though there’s a lot of anecdotal evidence out there, it doesn’t mean they have always cheated.

It’s just more probable than not that they have always cheated.

  2. The headset issue is the real smoking gun. Would be curious to know how many teams had “issues” with this while playing at Foxboro.

The league has records of these complaints.

Time to tie all these together.

    Spygate…
    Headsets not working …
    Tampering with footballs …

    Pattern of behavior.

  3. I remember that game. Pats won 47-7 in the snow and the cardinals couldn’t get on the bus fast enough.

But your headset certainly would have won you the game champ.

  4. Fool us once, shame on you. Fool us twice, shame on us. Brady should be lucky his suspension is only 4 games.

  5. Get in line behind AJ Feely, Dansby

Wanna beat the Patriots? Practice harder. Be better.

  6. lets also talk about how they don’t show replays up there that favor opposing teams (and support the opposing team’s head coach throwing a replay flag).

  7. There are enough of these allegations against so many teams in the league, that I think a headset in a helmet subjected to multiple impacts through-out a season is the real culprit. This is just speculative piling-on. Read the Patriots rebuttal of the Wells Report. It is quite compelling.

  8. The former PR person for the Jaguars, Vic Ketchman, said he used to to have a standing bet with Jack del Rio about which quarter the coaches headsets would go out at Foxboro.

  9. I was at that game. Awesome experience even though I’m not a pats fan. Still, even with a working headset and 12 men on the field at all times, the Cards wouldn’t have made that a ballgame.

  10. This is just getting ridiculous.

What’s next? Well, I pulled a hammie in the 2nd quarter of a game against the Patriots back in 2009. I think Tom Brady had something to do with it, because he grinned at me and said what’s up before the game. I mean, he could have just been being friendly and maybe I pulled my hamstring because I didn’t properly hydrate…but after spygate and now deflategate, I have have a hard time thinking it wasn’t the Patriots fault. I mean, Tom is a cheater right?

  11. Here is the thing…. Once you get caught cheating SEVERAL times, things like this will happen.

Like if you caught a spouse cheating red handed several times, when they are late coming home one night you have every right to suspect the worst.

  12. If you guys think that this incident will stop the Pats from doing other cheating things, oh my fault, push the envelope then I got some land to sell you in China.

  13. Obviously every team that ever lost to the Patriots only did so because of cheating.

Had nothing to do with being out prepared, out coached and outplayed between the white lines.

  14. Enjoyed that game at the Hairy Monk here in NYC and remember it vividly. I have never seen a team look more disinterested in playing than the Cards did that day in the snow. The flat out didn’t want to tackle anybody. But keep telling yourself whatever you need to Karlos!

    —————————–

Or having the board show 3rd down in the AFCCG when it’s really 4th down, on the last play of the game.

Or, using ineligible receivers in the divisional round.

  16. LOL. Dansby.

47-7 was as much about headsets as 45-7 was about 1psi in a football.

    LOL. Cardinals.

Btw, the rule is if the visiting team headset doesn’t work the home team can’t use their either. The rule was instituted exactly to avoid situations like the one Dansby described.

  17. So when you gave the hand signals to run you couldn’t run and hand signals to throw you couldn’t throw? You sure it was the headsets and not the fact that you guys might have sucked playing in the cold weather?

  18. It’s a bummer that the NFL has officially become more about reality TV than it is about sports entertainment. Good headlines or bad, these guys are getting very rich off of it. The Pats organization stands to make more money from the bad publicity than they were fined. Both the NBA and the NHL are in the middle of great playoff seasons, yet the NFL continues to garner most of the attention from negative headlines.

  19. There are stories like this about the Patriots that have been quietly circulating for years but no one has really publicly come out to systematically expose them.

Kraft and Brady better be careful going up against Goodell. They may just stir up a hornets nest of animosity that could have the unintended consequence of revealing far greater violations than merely tinkering with the psi in a football.

  20. 6 years later karlos speaks up,is he looking to sell something and get some free attention?

  21. Google “NFL headsets not working” and you will see that literally every team in the NFL has had issues with headsets at one time or another. They are wireless. Stuff happens. BOSE was was hired to fix the chronic issues

  22. I love it!!! Hahah all the teams pats stomped on are trying to make excuses as to why they got their butts whooped!! Lmao whatever makes u feel better dansby

  23. Yeah, that’s why you lost…. Not because you’re a done team fro AZ playing in a storm & your team stunk… Had to be the headset…
& this chick of a man is promoting skin cream he helped develop….
Sounds too funny to go any further than that!!!

  24. No on cares what the other 31 teams fans say.Football has so many loser fans. They are present at every game and every team has a lot of them. They are called losers.

  25. If every team the Pats smoked piles on, I guess that’s gonna include most of the league. I thought it was mostly fans of the other AFCEast teams, Pittsburgh, the Rams, Colts, …well, never mind. There were problems with the system in the 1rst yr of implementation, in a snow storm. What a surprise. Guess he also forgot that once 1 team’s system goes out, the other team can’t use theirs either. Del Rio tried to use the same excuse when the Pats blew out the Jags in the playoffs, as if Foxboro is the only place these systems occasionally go out. You got smoked(by MCassel, LOL), own up to it.

  26. Wanna beat the Patriots? Practice harder. Be better.
    ———————————————————

You forgot one. Be a better cheater

  27. I remember that game like it was yesterday. It was a miserable winter storm. Cardinals were totally unprepared. They had the wrong cleats and were a mess. They looked like they wanted to get out of Foxboro as soon as possible. They were miserable.

This guy is clearly trying to piggy back this issue so he can sell skin something or other.

  28. LOL

I can’t get enough of Pats’ fans pointing their fingers at all the “haters” thinking they’re hated because of their rings.

Pats are hated so because everyone hates, get this, a cheater.

Let’s all take a min to remember Goodell burning Spygate tapes. No one will ever know how far cheating actually got the pats, but many will assume their success came by way of cheating.

Nice legacy for you Pats’ fans to endure.

  29. How harsh is the penalty going to be when the New England Br*dy’s are found cheating again? Lifetime ban for T*mmy? Forced sale of the team?

  30. Unfortunately the Patriots have done nothing to disprove
any allegations over the years and if the shoe fits…
It wouldn’t surprise me if what Dansby said actually happened.

  31. If Cardinals’ communications weren’t working, all they had to do is inform the refs and they would have turned off the Pats’ communications too.

  32. Ah, a famous game! I remember it well. It was the first time that The Fearless Hoodie flipped the switch on the secret weather machine hidden behind the north tunnel, causing it to snow in New England for days and days… And all so the Patriots could win yet another game!

  33. It’s just more probable than not that we’ll kick your team’s ass again. Hater’s gonna hate…its what they do. Kiss the rings and tip your collective caps to BB! In Bill We Trust.

  34. A lot of these type of articles are going to be written for a long time. If you are caught cheating once, then you deal with the punishment. Get caught again, the precedent has been set, and you look like garbage for a loooonnnnngggg time. Whimpering like a child trying to get out of getting punished. Is there any more dirt out there? A number of people will still say Brady, etc. won’t be tainted. That’s a delusion. NE, you did it to yourselves.

  35. You can tell this guy got cheated. He ought to sue whatever school system he alledgedly was educated in. If I were him I’d be ashamed to write anything.

  36. Its pretty obvious that PATS had technology to disrupt the signal, said technology was on loan from the US Dept of Defense.

  37. It truly is remarkable how far the Patriots are in the heads of the rest of the NFL.

All teams have headset issues. They have adversely affected the Patriots too.

  38. This teams legacy will forever be tarnished. All of their Super Bowls will forever be in question. I actually kind of feel bad for Patriot fan. Your team is a farce.

  39. Besides, there is always an NFL official who shuts the other teams Headset when one team’s set is not working. The 49ers learn that trick when they scripted the first few dozen plays and have radio problems so both sides headset gets turn off. The other team is unprepared. Just like the Patriots cheat when they go to their no-huddle offense. LOL. Keep complaining Karlos, you and AJ are sore losers.

  40. Oh jeez, here we go. Now everyone is gonna come out of the woodworks and have their story to get their name in the news. Just like all the women that have come out with Bill Cosby stories.

  41. That headset thing was mentioned many times by different teams. I think it all stopped after Spygate.

  42. Will these guys just shut the hell up!?!?!? Dude, I watched that game. You guys showed up and got back on the bus before the game started. None of you losers wanted to play that game, none of you. Get over it.

  43. Pats are so far in everyone’s head it’s unreal. There are stories online now about how the whole league should be ‘scared’ because the Pats are ‘angry.’ Buncha babies.

  44. Logical Person -“Only someone with 1/2 a brain would believe Brady, Kraft and the Pats denials”

Pats Fans -“we believe you! We all believe you!!”

    Game, Set, Match

  45. & one time when we were playing newengland I saw a witch doctor chanting some evil spells toward our bench… Laughed it off till I got a really nasty hang nail… Where’s the justice.. I’m sure they did it before… Other teams players got them too… Just ask em!

  46. As a Pats fan I just don’t give a bleep anymore what people think. Obviously everyone whoever loses – even when it’s by 40 points in a blizzard – is going to cry about it. Whatever. Can’t wait til next year when the Pats stomp people. What will your excuses be then??

  47. Funny how despite all the obvious evidence against Brady and the Pats, their fans would rather stick their head in the dirt and deny deny deny when theyd be the first ones screaming and hollering if it was any other team.

Have some class and take the punishment like you got a pair and then move on!

  48. It’s not the head set
He didn’t wear the right skin care to adjust to the head set.
    What an idiot !
Someone else with issues VS the pats?

  49. Of course when one team’s headsets go off, the other’s are turned off too, by rule. But I understand, getting utterly stomped by >> Matt Cassel << must still hurt.

  50. well a 47-7 beating is definately easy when you know the others teams signals and plays ahead of time so you know exactly what play to call. The Pats have been cheating for sometime and finally they’ve got caught.

You mean ….like in every stadium?

  52. Question to Pats fans…

How can you so frequently claim that “everyone does it” and “everyone cheats” without any proof.

And then also argue that Tom Brady is not a cheater because there isn’t enough “proof”?

So when making wild claims about everyone else, facts and “proof” aren’t necessary.

But when looking at your own team and QB, you want hard proof and video evidence to accept it??

  53. NFL rumor has it that Bill Walsh was infamous for doing this in the 1980’s and Bill Parcells called him out for it in the past.

Haha, as for Dansby the game was 47-7……. I mean come on????

  54. “Strip the titles for the integrity of the game”

Sure thing. And they can strip the Steelers of their titles because they were guilty of rampant steroid abuse.

And while they’re at it, take the 49’ers titles away because Jerry Rice has admitted to using stickem.

And just to be fair, let’s also strip the Cowboys of their titles, since in the wake of Spygate, Jimmy Johnson admitted that the Cowboys used to illegally tape their opponents.

And of course, we can’t leave out the Broncos and their two SB victories. They were caught illegally circumventing the salary cap.

And take the Colts’ lone SB win away from them too. Everyone knows they were pumping fake crowd into their dome.

Strip all these teams of their titles…for the integrity of the game.

  55. If the NFL didn’t screw the Raiders in the Snow Bowl then this possibly could’ve been stopped before the Pats got started. Now 15 years later the NFL is trying to save face.

    Or cheat!

  57. In Week 16, against the playoff-bound Arizona Cardinals, Cassel led the Patriots to a 47–7 blowout win through snow, sleet, and rain in the Patriots’ last regular-season home game of 2008. Cassel, playing in snow for the first time ever,[23] nevertheless completed 20 of 36 passes for 345 yards, three touchdowns, and no interceptions, while helping the Patriots remain in the hunt for the AFC East title. In a role reversal, Matt Leinart entered the game as the Cardinals’ backup quarterback when Kurt Warner was pulled from the game with the Cardinals trailing 44–0; Leinart completed 6 of 14 passes, for 138 yards, one touchdown, and one interception.[24]

How exactly do you “disprove an allegation”?

  59. Am i reading this correct, Dansby is saying the Patriots were responsible for installing a faulty head set in an Arizona team captains helmet?

Call it a hunch, but i am assuming his headset was preinstalled long before he got to foxboror, i dont think the home teams install a new one every week in the opposing teams helmets…

  60. Another loser jumping on the hate Brady bandwagon. These guys can’t even be original

  61. The modern day Black Sox.

Serial Cheats, an absolute disgrace to sports.

    **** #stained4ever

  62. I remember watching that game. The Cardinals took one look at the snow and gave up in the first quarter. They couldn’t wait to get out of Foxboro.

  63. By the way, just a reminder – Brady didn’t play in that 2008 game versus Arizona.

If Karlos Dansby had an ounce of pride he would be embarrassed to even talk about a game his team lost 47-7 to a team being quarterbacked by Matt Cassel.

  64. So the Patriots are the new bogeyman?

You guys can’t actually take a statement like that seriou…

*looks at the comments, all the thumbs up supporting this literal nobody’s baseless claim*

The haters are truly out in full force today.

  65. soooo, they had radio scramblers?!! Seriously? The year they went to the superbowl, and still bring ridiculous crap like this up

  66. this like the 25th coach or player on record for communications issues at Foxboro.

Is NE tampering with audio / radio signals…..you bet

THey don’t call it 1 Espionage place for nothing.

When is the NFL going to stop taking a blind eye on this one……this one has been complained upon since Gillete was built. Do they video everything at that place inside and out…..yes.

Funny the bathroom near the field is not camera watched though 😉 Great planning, great cheating

  67. You can keep your 4 rings. There are teams with more. My team has 4 rings, and 9 championships before the Superbowl existed. Get back to me about your 4 rings when your team accomplishes something, and does so without cheating.

    Patriots fans are the worst.

  68. He’s played another 3 times in Foxboro since then; did it happen any of those times?

Obviously not, otherwise it would have been mentioned.

  69. “I actually kind of feel bad for Patriot fan. Your team is a farce”

Don’t feel bad for us. We absolutely LOVE the fact that people like you are so jealous. We feed off of your jealousy and hatred.

And we revel in those four SB victories…and NOTHING you jealous losers say can bring us down!

    New England Patriots….SUPER BOWL CHAMPIONS!!!!

    Deal with it!

  70. I remember that game. When Brady was on the sidelines, he always kept his headphones in his Man Purse, the one that Mr. Bunny gave him.

  71. Go online and look up the teams that cheat the most in the NFL. You will find the Pats around 21. Yet the Jets and Colts rank 3 and 4 and they are crying about the Pats. Like others have said get better and stop whining you do realize psychological warfare means your done before you even get started so the Pats have a huge edge on you already. They are in your head. Look how insane they make Rex Ryan the dude is gonna lose it one day

  72. “I lost to the Patriots too, Im sure they cheated somehow. That is why we lost, thanks for the publicity.”

  73. If Pats fans keep referencing the score after a cheating scandal, my question to them is if your team is THAT good, then why do they feel the need to cheat? They themselves don’t believe they can win straight up, but they want us fans to believe it.

The Pats actions say that they think they need to cheat to win. If they think they needed to cheat to win, then who am I to disagree??

  74. “How can you so frequently claim that “everyone does it” and “everyone cheats” without any proof”

Hey Einstein, there’s already been at least two former NFL QBs (Jeff Blake and Brad Johnson) who have admitted to doing it, and who’ve said that every team they ever played on did it.

Just like in the wake of Spygate, former Cowboys coach Jimmie Johnson admitted that all teams, including his Cowboys, were illegally filming other teams.

But by all means, don’t let the facts get in the way.

  75. LOL, knowing the patriots, they probably had video of the hand signals too and we’re able to blow them out. Boot them from the league and bring in an expansion team.

  76. Patriots have already created a website called Dansbycontext.com that is a 20,000 word rebuttal to Dansby’s interview.

Don Yee has question Dansby’s independance because he has to do something. And Brady has hired Ryan Kessler of the Anaheim Mighty Ducks to fight Goddell… who Kraft it totally not BFF’s with anymore

  77. I’m unclear as to why moderators are repeatedly deleting my posts. It makes little sense when looking at the comments that make it through: mostly swearing, badly spelled rants against the Patriots.

  78. The Cardinals wanted nothing to do with the snow and the slippery conditions that day in Foxboro. It looked as if they didn’t bring the right cleats and slipped and fell all game long. No tackling, no effort, nothing.

Dansby is lying through his teeth when he blames a headset malfunction.

  79. The entire league– players, coaches, front office, journalists, fans– knows the Patriots are the cheatingest team in NFL history.

  80. Pats fans are so funny. No matter who speaks on the Patriots you guys always kill the messenger. If JESUS said “yes the Patriots are cheaters.” You guys we say oh get outta here JESUS your lying. You guys are embarrassing! Just embarrassing!!

  81. Why cheat? I firmly believe Bill would still be a decent coach and Tom at least an average quarterback without cheating….

  82. Dang…..The Patriots have really made some fans and ex-players miserable over the years. I guess the beatings they have inflicted have taken their toll. What will these fans do when the Patriots beat their team into submission again this season or next season?

  83. This is a well-documented problem at Foxboro. Even the Patriots have had issues with the communication and they routinely prepare for no-headset huddles.

  84. Isn’t it a rule that is one teams headsets go out the other team must also stop use of theirs to stop an unfair advantage? Don’t have a rule book but though that was the case.

  85. Yes. A full year would have been the right amount. It’s only fair and appropriate that Brady get six games more than Josh Brent got for KILLING HIS TEAMMATE.

  86. when this whole thing came to a boil this week and no one would shut up about DFG i was getting annoyed but now i`m kinda enjoying the pile on. as a 53 yr old man that’s seen alot i truly do not believe all of this info we are hearing after the fact is just BS. yeah, i could be wrong but just seems odd to me so many people have “stories” about the patriots. plus he may be a great coach but BB comes off like a dick.

  87. I found it funny how a walk on rookie DB in the biggest game of his life the Super Bowl … would know what play was coming …. hmmmm.

Also notice once the Pats were losing in the 3rd quarter of the SB … how many flags were thrown to disrupt and slow down the game.

  88. The Cardinals must have been cheated against a lot that year.
They lost to Philly 48-20 in Philly and the Jets 56-35 in NY.

Let me repeat THEY LOST TO THE JETS 56-35.

Maybe, just maybe, they were not very good road team that year.

  89. The Patriots cheat… their fans make noise that make it hard to concentrate when we’re trying to call an audible. They shouldn’t be in the league. Wahhhhh!

  90. Nothing is more pathetic than these players who are crawling out from under their rocks to say “oh yeah, I remember 5, 10, 15 years ago, I had a feeling the Pats were cheating” If you didn’t have the guts to say it then, shut up now!

  91. So a team that plays indoors in the desert doesn’t have trouble with their headsets until they play outdoors in a snowstorm in freezing weather?

    You don’t say…

Next thing you know, they’ll claim the benches are colder there, too!

  92. Perception is everything folks….and to the Pats fans that think people are jealous or butt hurt…no, they are just excited that Tom and the organization continues….. CONTINUES to prove that they are cheaters. 4 rings at what cost? Piss on the patriots and Tom brady. You wont ever hear the end of the cheating remarks and have no one but your team to blame.

How about the fact that Belichick had him practice that very play dozens of times, yelled at him and told him he had to make that play. How about the fact that Belichick and his staff study game films and know what, to whom and when their opponents are likely to throw something? How about the fact that Belichick saw that the Seahawks were mismanaging the clock and knew he could rattle Carroll by not calling a time out. It’s amazing how often hard work and smart on the part of the Patriots has other teams going….hmmmm!

  96. He should use that skin cream to help hide the tracks of his tears…
Hey Carlos… 15 yards for piling on… 7 years too late that is
Freakin halarious…. A defender like this who helped develop skin cream wonders how he got his — handed to him???
Sounds like he got his panties in a bunch too!!!

  97. “Or, using ineligible receivers in the divisional round”

Great observation, Einstein. I mean, aside from the fact that those receivers were eligible and the play was completely within the rules.

Why don’t you learn a little about football before you post nonsense and make a fool of yourself.

  99. LMAO! This is comical. So many loser players are coming out of the woodwork now to cry about the Pats “cheating”. You know…years after it apparently happened. If they were so concerned about all this “cheating” why didn’t they alert the NFL then? The Colts were able to do it. Why couldn’t they? (And don’t tell me no one would believe them.)

  100. “C’mon man”.

That’s proof enough for me… all I need to hear. Sounds more probable than not that the Pats were at least generally aware.

    ******************************************
    Really????
The Seahawks never ran that play all season … how can you study film on that unless of course you were recording their super bowl walk through.

  102. “How about the fact that Belichick had him practice that very play dozens of times, yelled at him and told him he had to make that play”

You are 100% correct about that. In fact, for anyone who actually cares about the facts, there is actually video footage from a Patriots practice of the team practicing against that same play.

I’m not kidding. It’s on the team’s Super Bowl DVD, “Three Games to Glory IV”. They show the team practicing against that formation, and Butler getting beaten on the play for a TD.

  103. “my question to them is if your team is THAT good, then why do they feel the need to cheat?”

They don’t NEED to. They do it for the sheer pleasure of it.

  104. I don’t hear very many people taking this opportunity to pile on the Patriots. Coaches. Players. Current. Retired. Of all the people out there, I’ve heard maybe 3 or 4 people and some of them are speculating.
This is more evidence to support the Patriots.

  105. I like how all the retards on this site take this story as the gospel…..speaks volumes on how the Wells report is perceived by said retards…..despite definitive information

  106. Savor you’re rings cause weather you believe they cheat or not, you’re raign is coming to an end… The EAST is on the rise and everyone is watching to see what the Patiots are gonna try pulling out if their helmet next…. The joke is on them and the fans that support them Enjoy ;^)

  108. Everyone who loses to Pats looks for an excuse. Dude you lost 47-7. It was a raging blizzard and both headsets werent working. Get better and stop claiming cheating. The Patriots don’t do anything other teams don’t. They’re better coached and have the best qb.

Got caught cheating on more than one occasion! Deal with it!

People don’t hate the Pats becuz of their rings, they hate them because people hate cheaters.

Why is Tom Brady so good? Let’s think about this for a sec. Oh right, for years his coordinator knew the exact play the defense was going to run and told Brady where to go with the ball.

That’s years of valuable experience that one could only get by cheating.

    That’s the Pats’ legacy. Cheating.

Funny how despite all the obvious evidence against Brady
    ———–
Point out this obvious evidence.. hell, i’ll even take unobvious evidence.. something other then more possibly then not and generally maybe aware

  111. God these tears are delicious

Soon the NFL will crumble and Brady will reign as supreme Lord of the NFL.

We rip your hearts out of your chest on and off the field.

    That’s what champs do

  112. “My headset was working fine, every game,” Dansby said. “Until the very last game of the year. We get in Foxboro, they couldn’t get my headset fixed, for nothing in the world.”

    —–

It was week 16 and not week 17, so his recollection is not fully accurate. I wonder what else he doesn’t remember quite right?

Also, that Cardinals team gave up at the end of that season.

  113. There was also a major snowstorm and the team from the warm climate lost badly. Don’t the Cardinals, before this season, have a terrible streak for east coast games?

  114. Okay, this is getting ridiculous. The Colts lost the AFC Championship game last season b/c they just weren’t as good as the Patriots, end of story.
Sorry, Dansby, your Cardinals lost that day b/c they just weren’t as good as the Patriots.
So are we as football fans going to critique every single game the Patriots have played under Bill Belichick & while Tom Brady has been QB?? Some people just can’t handle the fact that there are people in this world who are better than them, and that includes the sports teams that they follow.
    Give me a break.

  115. “You are 100% correct about that. In fact, for anyone who actually cares about the facts, there is actually video footage from a Patriots practice of the team practicing against that same play.

I’m not kidding. It’s on the team’s Super Bowl DVD, “Three Games to Glory IV”. They show the team practicing against that formation, and Butler getting beaten on the play for a TD.”

I will also add that the Hawks telegraphed the play by using the same WR formation and routes to the right side on the Lynch run. Lynch runs left, and the receivers run the pick anyways. Browner stuffs the pick, Revis covers the slant.

    Who needs film?

  116. clelek05 says: May 14, 2015 4:22 PM

Haha! Pile on. Pathetic losers. Listen to yourselves. 4 RINGS. Eat it

    YES!!! 4 CHEATING RINGS! HAHAHA

  117. C’mon haters, what’s next? That Tom Brady kicked Ed Reed in the groin? Oh wait. Never mind.

  118. My phone doesn’t work when I’m in Foxboro..I guess it effects everyone Karlos.. Everyone needs a reason why they can’t win there .. And to the guy that says they, taped everything that’s why they won. I taped your mom cheating on your dad with me every night for years, and he still doesn’t know how to do it right. You might be my son you should ask them about that.

  119. Hey Dansby! As a Pats season ticketholder I can tell you that I was at that game. The reason why you lost is that you flew all the way across the country into a late December snow game. And your team didn’t feel like playing in the cold and you all laid down like dogs. Hardly gave it an effort that day. Randy Moss caught a quick out and went 75 yards untouched to the end zone. Matt freakin’ Cassel was beating you 47-0!!! It had NOTHING to do with headsets! This piling on is a joke.

And yet again, we didn’t see Dansby complain in the papers the next day. But we hear about it 7 years later? Ridiculous.

  120. Cue the never-ending parade of has-beens waiting for their 15 seconds of basking. “Hey, we never were really able to beat them at, you know, football, but maybe this is our chance to come out on top!!”

    LOL. What next.

  121. He thinks Brady should have been suspended for a year? Wow. It’s hefty enough he got 4 games and let me be clear, I dislike the guy and wish for scandal after scandal to hit him so he quits being the media’s golden boy.

As for his headset allegations, that’d be funny if they did do that and do other stuff like that to visiting teams. I wouldn’t be surprised by it.

Why cheat? I firmly believe Bill would still be a decent coach and Tom at least an average quarterback without cheating….

    ———————–
And your team would still stink…

  123. “own up to it”

If only the Pats would take your advice.

Eight days ago, Robert Kraft said “extending this debate would prove to be futile.” Today, his lawyers produced a 19,662-word report.

  124. Why is it these lame complaints seem to only come from teams that got there a$$ kicked by NE?

    #crybaby

    ———————————————————-

Well because the teams that they felt they didn’t need to cheat (The Browns), they struggle with and usually lose. In fact the Browns have beaten the patriots more times than not. Historical record: 13 to 10.

  125. ally????
The Seahawks never ran that play all season … how can you study film on that unless of course you were recording their super bowl walk through.

    Wrong!!!

Pete said himself in his post game at the SB they have “ran that play” during the season.

  126. I watched the 1896 Patriots and am sure, eh! probably sure, that there were so much general cheating that Ted Wells grandad grandad measured something and found everything.

    How could this happen?

  127. These stories are click bait for pft. Lol brings out every NFL troll in North America

Every pro team in sports cheat. Pats got caught because it was a sting. Maybe your (or my) team will be next. Gee I hope my tigers don’t try to steal third base coach signs.

  128. Sounds like something Walsh did against Giants and PFT wrote about in 2011. Unfortunately, the Giants won both games.

“This kind of stuff has been going on in the NFL for quite some time, but it takes different forms,” Parcells said. “This is not just restricted to the defense. I know from past history in two playoff games, one of these teams that was famous for using a script, which they rehearsed with their team prior to the game — they knew exactly what they wanted to do — mysteriously, two years in a row, when the game started, their phones went down, which mandates that the other side put their phones down. Now, let me get this straight. You’ve got your script rehearsed, you know what you’re going to do, the defense doesn’t know what’s coming, but they have to take their phones off?”

Parcells didn’t name Walsh or the 49ers, but that’s obviously who he was referring to. Parcells made the same claim in 2007, referring to two Giants-49ers playoff games (after the 1985 and 1986 seasons) when Parcells coached against Walsh.

The Giants won both those games, so Parcells isn’t suggesting that cheating cost his team a game. But it’s obviously something that bothers him: A quarter century later, he still hasn’t let it go.

  129. By that logic we can then definitively say that Jim Harbaugh orchestrated the stadium lights to go out on the Steelers (1/23/13) and on the Ravens (2/4/13) as a bona fide cheater!

I mean really, if we’re going to go with the “more probable than not” based on conjecture and assumption spiced with some genuine jealousy then why not? Jim is guilty as sin!

  130. This is hilarious. All these patriots fans (and the patriots themselves) grasping at straws and trying their hardest to convince themselves and everyone else that they’re not cheaters.

The fact that it has to be defended so much tells you everything you need to know. And now there’s players coming out and plainly saying that the patriots are cheaters.

Spygate, Deflategate etc… will loom over this team and those players forever. No one will ever confuse tom brady for the best quarterback ever and no one will ever consider the patriots the best dynasty ever.

    Talk about a stain…

  131. SMH it’s just sad… even after Goodell literally gave all the salty haters what they were rioting for, they still aren’t satisfied. Don’t worry, because it’s about to get overturned anyway, enjoy it while you can.

Oh, and all this “legacy tarnished forever!” nonsense is a waste of time. You think we care? A legacy is what you think of someone basically, and you all been salty and jealous long before this, no one outside of NE (Brady included) has ever, or will ever care about what you casuals or butthurt former opponents think of NE or him.

The wins still count. Hell, even if they had done some stupid “that titles doesn’t count, title vacated” It would still count. When they vacate a National Championship in college or Bush’s heisman… no one cares. We saw the game, we saw Bush play. Still Champs, Still heisman winner.

Live with it, cry if you must, but live with it.

  132. 23 games your calling into account with the Browns. Who coached the Browns from “91-95” and how many times have they played since then. You sound dumb bro. I could play QB against the Browns with a cinder block and win. Bill gives freebies to all his old teams. Especially the Giants

  133. Are you going to write an article about every player who publicly states the Patriots cheated in order to win by 40 points

  134. I love how irrelevant payers are coming our of the woodwork. Even A.J. Feeley weighed in! He’s so irrelevant, I actually confused him with Jay Feely! (Who believes Brady is innocent BTW)

  135. That is ridiculous and petty, By the way every team in the league at some point and time has been accused of wrong doing. Its sore losers venting frustration just like most of you do on your posts. Most of you will watch your team suffer through another losing season then whine complain and makes excuses for them. LOL

  136. This typifies the exact reason why responsible reporting and idiotic stone-throwing and piling on in society is dangerous.

This claim is baseless and stupid–The Cardinals quit the game before they started that year and got rag-dolled. Their headset broke? So it broke.

…of course, it must have been Brady and Belichick again, twirling their mustaches…what a dolt.

—–and a legion of meathead losers piles on, right on cue.

  137. hopefully that skin cream he developed will cover those tear tracks of his…

probably should work on a new form of preparation H to sooth that butt hurt the Pats put on them

  138. Hate watching a pats game well be better now that they have recently been bonafide again.

  139. First the NFL cheated for them with ‘The Tuck Rule’..then they cheated with Spygate..now we find out from day one they’ve probably been deflating footballs for TB. It’s like corking a bat. It’s playing outside of the rules. It’s like giving DeAndre Jordan the chance to use smaller basketballs to improve his free throw %. I love hearing the idiots in New England trying to defend this.

  140. Oh oh I want to play too! One time I got a parking ticket driving past the Meadowlands, the only ticket I ever got, suspend the Jets for the year!

  141. This has to be an attempt at satire by Dansby, that game was an absolute slaughter, and everyone who has played football to the college level knows defensive play calls are not like offense, and hand signals are easy as a backup plan. It’s also known policy in the NFL that if headsets aren’t working for one team, the officials make both teams shut them off. This has to be an attempt at satire and humor by Dansby

  142. The third-most depressing result of Deflategate: every guy who lost a game to the Patriots in the last fifteen years now has a readymade excuse, free of charge.

  143. It’s actually VERY funny, because the score of the Colts Pats game was 45-7, and the score here was 47-7.

Do you need a headset to throw a touchdown? Or, would you have score more points if the Pats balls were NOT inflated?

How do either of you win those games anyway??? I’m confused.

  144. From the severe beatings the Pats put on certain opposing teams, if the Pats ARE cheating, I don’t know why they feel the need to. I don’t get that part. They’re good enough to destroy opponents without that help.

  145. ‘Let’s dig into some old emails and text messages. Put Brady on the stand.

    0 0
    Report commen”

The best part is you, anonymous frothing mouthed retard, think you are smarter than Brady’s lawyers.

  146. Dang, you mean to tell me a cops keep-ish-quite code is better than the NFL’s keep-ish-quite code amongst employees’?? How the hell is that? Ex’s and disgruntle’s coming out of the wood work… obviously, Mr. Dansby has just woken up from the daymare he thought was a nightmare… losing to the Pats will do that to ya. SMH.

  147. I am not a Brady fan…..but this Dansby is an idiot!

“We didn’t have no problems with the headset” If he had to push an on/off switch, that might have been the problem.

  148. “This has to be an attempt at satire by Dansby”

That fits perfectly with the part of the story where it says he’s marketing a line of skin care products.

Rub some lotion on it, Karlos!

  149. Nice work at deflection pats fans. Not one response was addressed to the accusation. A whole lot of look at the score and who is this guy.

  150. Audio engineer here, wireless receivers and transmitters are a big PITA, particularly when cramming as many as the NFL broadcast crews and stadium crews do on game day.
Ever notice when the reporters and their wireless mics all go down to the field near the end of a half, because they want their ten seconds with whomever, the coaches start complaining about issues with their transmitters and receivers? The newer generation of wireless is better than what was used 7 years ago.

  151. So it took this guy 8 years and a product to promote to come out and say anything. Get a life and all you people that just keep piling on get a life too. This is getting beyond foolish

  152. Patriots’ fans are like kids who get caught, deny everything; then when you point to the jelly on the kids’ hands, they say it was somebody else; and then finally, everyone else steals the jam too. It starts at the top with their creepy owner and their puerile QB -no class, no rules, no honor.

  153. It’s a culture of cheating and corruption.

The taint will forever be on this franchise.

This much smoke makes for an eternal flame.

I’d rather lose with dignity, even though my Chiefs crushed these frauds. And crushed is being too kind.

  154. It’s obvious that the pats will enlist any resource within the organization to give them an edge.i think these people take it upon themselves to pull dirty tricks much like the followers of Nixon in the early 70’s. And bob Kraft thinks it’s just karma

  155. Vic Ketchman, editor and daily article-writer on Packers.com wrote about the headset issues at Gillette Stadium. This is not an isolated incident and it angers me to see how many of you people brush Dansby off…..

  156. Oh no. …not the they turned off my microphone accusation.

    The Lombardi’s are safe.

Jealous NFL fans can’t change that.

I’m ready for the Patriot fans in Eagles jerseys are the ones who booed Santa Claus.

  157. Florio, you originally posted this as a deflategate article. You originally didn’t make mention to the fact that Cassel was the starting QB in this game. You then corrected yourself without “correcting” yourself. As had been stated on this website, it’s not the crime that matters, it’s the coverup of the crime. The point is this was never Brady deflategate story, but in your admitted “angst” to post, you posted it. At least admit it.

  158. Really. I remember playing the patriots and my Gatorade was warm. How much more do we need to keep hearing this crap. Take the punishment and move on. the media keeps this going. And btw. Don’t the nfl run the electronics. If His Headset Does Not Work Then They Turn Everyones off. Maybe it was all of his hot air that was stopping the transmission. Patriots won a crap ton of games. They cheated. Let’s move on. No one is looking into anyone else. I pity the next team that gets caught ruining the integrity of the game. Someone might get executed on Thursday night football..of course on the nfl network

  159. what a pathetic loser they got whipped 47-7 . he’s worse than the scumbag patriot hater commentors , if you can’t beat the pats on the field cry to the commish !

  160. For all of you piling on Dansby because the game wasn’t even close – how does the final score diminish Dansby’s statement? If anything, it strengthens his story. Duh.

  161. I just watched the game from the DVR. It appears both sidelines had communication issues. That or the refs correctly stopped the team with working headsets from using them as the issue was fixed. Junior Seau is shown multiple times getting defensive signals from the sidelines.

It was a blizzard and the Cardinals gave up because it was an early east coast winter game. Nor was it week 17 as Dansby attests, it was week 16.

And Brady cries “unfair” at 4 game suspension. That’s irony! LOL

    Go LIONS!

    ——

The league would probably be better off if the Lions left it. Hapless franchise.

The Patriots sleep-walked through the beating they gave them last year. And that’s the best Lions team I’ve seen in years. How depressing it must be for you all in Detroit.

    Keep trying though!

  163. Add this douche to the ever growing list of players and ex-players turning in their man cards crying like a girls. Wiley, Sharpe, Feely and so on…embarrassing…you just weren’t good enough.

  164. I remember that game.

    It was a massacre.

I’m sure if Dansby’s headset had worked, it would have gone totally the other way, right?

  165. Breaking news:
Patriots put rougher toilet paper in opposing locker rooms… Now all their players & coaches are butt hurt!!

  166. 31 owners are having meetings with thier staff asking them. How come we don’t try and push the envelope a little. You know try to get an edge ,Maybe we would win a few games , maybe we should have a bounty to take out opposing players(saints) why don’t we pump fake noise in ( Falcons,Colts ). Skirt salary cap ( Broncos). Tamper with players under contract ( jets) , sideline walls on special teams to trip players ( jets) overinflated footballs ( packers) steroid use. ( pick team ) crank the heat in a dome ( colts). Not cover field before championship game ( Dolphins ) Pay someone to tamper with balls before a super bowl ( brad Johnson bucs ) send hookers to opposing teams hotel ( lawrence Taylor admitted this ) pull fire alarms at hotel night before super bowl ( patriots were a victim of this last February ). Stickem use ( jerry rice 49ers + Lester Hayes. Oakland ) illegal contact at practices during training camp. ( Seahawks ). I could go on and on. Every team , player in every sport tries to get a competitive edge to help them win. Get over it !!

  167. As if anyone would ever bother cheating against the Cardinals. Your time would be better spent napping.

Excellent point. Belichick in his year end interview with WEEI went into great detail about that very fact. They were going over the end of the game and the signals before the Malcolm Butler INT, and BB went into detail how the headsets went dead during Super Bowl 42 when all the media began to flood the outer sideline.

Back to Dansby, the weather conditions and first year implementation of the system are a clear indicator that foul play was most probably not a factor. When then taking into account the timing of this allegation, 7 years after the fact, and Dansby seems pretty unbelievable.

  170. Vince Wilfork posted a photo in support of Tom Brady: ‘The best QB to ever play the game’

I believe that tops Damian Woody for former Patriots.

Come on, you know Wilfolk’s photo should dislodge Dansby.

  171. How many times have you heard a Patriots player complain about a loss and say they didn’t beat us we got cheated! Man it’s pathetic you would expect this from little kids!

  172. Brady has been deflating balls for years ( which I guarantee you he has). They have seeked out a competitive advantage in close games over their opponent every year
Sure, before last year the pats hadn’t won a sb in over 10 years but last year they won 3 games by less then a td. How do we know tom shady and his addiction to deflating footballs couldn’t have an effect on any of those games. The answer is they could have………. Please don’t tell me since deflategate has hit that any of them other teams may not have won those games making their win look that much more tainted. Just facts.

  173. Coach- to head set communication was first used in 2008;this malfunction happened in 2008. Glitch.— Fairly common when something is new.

  174. Someone should inform Mr. Dansby that ALL communications are set up, operated and maintained by the NFL technicians and engineers. These are full time NFL employees not affiliated with any teams. The home teams have nothing to do with those systems.

  175. Patriot fans get over yourselves, no one is jealous. Did people hate Jordan and Jackson like they do when they dominated? No. I believe people hate the Patriots because of the arrogance of there fan base. Your not smarter or better fans than everyone else because your team is good. Your not better than everyone else because your team won 4 superbowls, you had nothing to do with it. Brady and Belicheck are great, no denying that but don’t lie to my face, I can’t respect that.

  176. Notice how everyone coming out and saying something against the Pats has been beaten by them in some way? Sounds like a bunch of sore baby losers. Disgraceful

  177. @patriotswinners

Great point. But we all know the REAL reason the Patriots are front and center of these–let’s face it–ridiculous trivialities. That’s exactly what they are. Taping signals (every team did it). “feel” of the football (every team again). What helped them win all these years was talent and coaching.

When you’re this good, this long, TEAMS are jealous and cranky over it. They are flat out SICK of it.

Just what are the odds, exactly, of the best team in a generation of football to (supposedly) be the ONLY team trying to gain little advantages to win?

That’s what the detractors yelling “cheaters!” would have you believe. It’s ludicrous.

All they need to do is examine each and every franchise to see what they’re looking for except, when you’re not as great as the Patriots have been–no one cares to. No other team is under this type of microscope and they do the same damn inconsequential things. This whole PSI thing is a waste of a discussion. Go play football better than the Patriots if you can, and then we’ll finally talk about something tangible.

  178. What it all comes down to is this. You play the Patriots and they kick your ass. You say they cheated but they still kicked your ass. Best team in football the last 15 years. Can’t change it.

    The Lombardi’s are safe.

No jealous fan can change that.

When your team can’t beat the Patriots it’s due to one thing.

    Your team isn’t good enough.

    Swallow that and digest it.

  179. bonniebengal says:

That headset thing was mentioned many times by different teams. I think it all stopped after Spygate.
    ——-
This occurred after “Spygate”, so try again.

  180. Stop it. No superbowls tainted. No legacy tainted. We beat the Rams because they underestimated us and we punched them in the mouth. We bet the Panthers in a shootout because we had the ball last. We bet the Eagles because there QB was blowing chunks on the field instead of leading his team down it. And we have Seattle. Bone head play at the end and to all of our surprise we win again. Everyone hates a winner. The yankees, the Canadiens , the Celtics , lakers , Cowboys. There has to be a loser. So say what you will. Im not burning my superbowl hates in the backyard. Sticks and stones. Lolololol. Drive for 5

  181. Only losers cry about losing. A lot of the so called football fans who are whining with the players are losers too. “Take away their Lombardi trophies”. Nonsense, and the reason the NFL is on it’s way to enjoying viewership numbers with NASCAR and pre season basketball.

  182. It’s amazing how ridiculous the excuses are that flow from Patriots fans to justify their institutional cheating.

They almost want people to believe that the text messages were fabricated by Wells himself. Here’s an idea…..if you aren’t guilty, then turn over relevant text messages or emails that the investigators said only needed to be regarding the deflation, not full access. Mr. Brady and shut everyone up. Oh wait….that would not work in your favor. Nevermind.

  183. I’m not even a Pats fan but this thing is a total witch hunt. Knucklehead commenters want to rescind the Patriots Super Bowls? Ok, then I guess we also need to rescind Tampa’s Super Bowl because their QB admitted to bribing the equipment staff to deflate the game balls. And the two Denver championships for salary cap violations. And the Dallas championships in the ’70s because of substance abuse by their players (Hollywood Henderson was a well known cocaine user). And a few San Francisco titles because Herry Rice admitted to using stickum. And god knows how many other teams that “cheated” in some way or another. We also need to take draft picks from the Panthers, Chargers, and Vikings for ball tampering just last season.

  184. That game was an annihilation, but you’re trying to tell me it was because the radios were screwing up? So it had nothing to do with the team just lining up in formation just to have the Pats kick their asses up and down the field?

Yeah, that’s what I thought. Take some of that cream of yours and apply it to your ass, because clearly you are butthurt in so many ways.

  185. I remember that game.

    It was a massacre.

I’m sure if Dansby’s headset had worked, it would have gone totally the other way, right?
    —————————————————-
So you going to tell me that one team is able to communicate and another has to use hand signals which the Pats probably spied to get the hand signals as well and that does not equal a distinct advantage?!!! The one thing that has to be crossing everyone’s mind outside of Massachusetts is what else are the Pats doing that they haven’t been caught doing?!

  186. More probable than not the pats win because they are better coached and better prepared. These sub par jokers pointing to headset malfunctions in a 47-7 loss are clowns.

When the pats lose they state they didn’t make enough plays to win. No excuses.

When did players become such whiny excuse making whimps?

Man up and play the game. Deserve to win. Own your outcomes.

Take the film, headsets, and needles away, tell the pats they need to play with bowling balls, and they will still go 12-4.

  187. Upon further review, Tommy gets to play the season, Patriots fined 500 million. Next case.

  188. So much jealousy. These players pointing fingers at the Pats because they got beat. I only wish all the Patriot haters would scrutinize these lying Politicians who are destroying the country as much as they do a football team.

  189. I like all these comments about your * 4 rings. Pittsburg has 6 Dallas has 5. all with no asterisk. Eat that instead. Good teams don’t have to cheat and its getting pretty clear as often as they are caught. the patriots were never a good team, much less great.

  190. @demons87

I know you think you were being funny when poking at the Jets but any educated football fan would know that there was a future HOF QB at the helm for NY in 2008. That same guy threw 6 TD’s against Arizona that game. You see, one can cherry pick stats all they want and try to poke fun at the Jets, but you look like a moron to those who are in the know!!! Some more fun facts for you. Cotchery and Coles were the 2 best WR’s on the Jets in 08. That game was also the one Boldin got his face rearranged!! Still can’t name the QB? His name was ………… Brett Favre.

  191. Jamming opponents radio signals was part of Spygate. No surprise that slap on the wrist never stopped them. I have witnessed it when Matt Flynn was working on a late comeback. They got so confused, couldn’t get that last chance in the redzone.

  192. Winning breeds envy. All these players coming out 6 years later about headsets now. Dansby your a complete idiot. I know it’s hard for you to comprehend hand signals but the Patriots had to turn their headset off too you Moron. Grow up and get some balls.

I hope th Patriots stomp all over Roger, teach him a lesson that he is a worthless POS making upwards of 30 million dollars. FOR WHAT? He is as useless at tits on bull. Fire his sorry A$$ and replace him with someone who is not a weasle.

You guys realize that game was played in pretty nasty snowfall and that snow can interfere with radio signals, right?
    ——————————————

Go back to school. The amount of attenuation snow can cause depends on the frequency being used. The lower the frequency the less attenuation. The high the frequency the higher the attenuation. To design an outdoor wireless bridge system correctly rain modeling is used (along with other Path Loss factors) for calculating the RSL needed to provide adequate Fade Margin necessary for any given system. No matter the signal being used, in todays day and age unless the snow is almost unbearable to be in it should not impede on the signal.

  194. Where are all the former Patriot players who were cut or released or traded, who have no reason to lie for the organization, and why have they not come forward with wild tales of cheating and espionage?

You would think at least one guy would talk, right?

  195. Former Steeler LB Jack Lambert: “I remember a game in Foxboro back when I played. I intercepted a pass and thought the ball felt soft. I think Brady was deflating it even back then.”

Reporter: “Umm, Jack? You never played against Brady. He wasn’t in the league yet.”

    Lambert: “Oh……”

  196. Suspend any team where Matt Leinart struggled. The Browns will finally win a Super Bowl that way.

  197. They have been cheating for years. Does anyone remember the “Snow Plow” game? Talk about giving yourself an unfair advantage!

  198. Pats have a LONG habit of cheating. Are we surprised that, in a big game at foxboro, the pats player communication system works fine but the cardinals doesn’t? You can bet that the Pats have done a lot of stuff over the years that wasn’t noticed or as been forgotten. Cheatin’ Bill and the Pats.

  199. This happened to the Lions in the second half of their game with the Patriots in 2006. Except it was the offensive headset that was affected. The Patriots won 28-21.

  200. “I like all these comments about your * 4 rings. Pittsburg has 6 Dallas has 5. all with no asterisk”

Oh yeah, those Steelers and Cowboys were as pure as the driven snow. I mean, aside from the fact that the Steelers were rampant PED users and that in the wake of Spygate, Jimmie Johnson admitted that the Cowboys also used to spy on other teams.

And BTW, I looked up the list of Super Bowl champions on the internet and guess what. No matter what site I look at, I can’t find any asterisks next to the Patriots’ name.

The only asterisks are in the imaginations of jealous losers like you.

New England Patriots – Super Bowl XLIX Champions.

    Eat that!

  201. I remember a game the Pats beat the Titans, I think it was 59-0(?) Did the Titans have the same headset problem. That would explain it!

  202. LOL! Carlos, I love you man (as a die hard Cards fan), but there’s only one reason we lost that game and it had nothing to do with your headset. Let me spell it out for you:

    M-A-T-T L-I-E-N-A-R-T

  203. The headset thing has been known about for a long time, to the point it’s kind of a running joke.

Oh, the visitors’ headsets won’t go out long enough to where the Patriots have to actually disable theirs as well, they just seem to go off at the most inopportune times, and then magically come back a play or two later…

Where do YOU draw the line:

    Gamesmanship?
    Pushing the limits?
    Looking for a loophole?
Just a little outside the rules?
    Flat out cheating?

Definitely seems to be a part of the NE culture, but with 4 trophies I’m sure they’d say it’s been well worth selling their souls…

  204. Kraft and the Patriot fans want to focus on the fact that they won the game against Arizona by a big score or the game against the Colts this year, by a big score. We fans and the NFL are not stupid. It’s not necessarily the game you got caught cheating in its the dozens of games before that, some with very close scores that you hadn’t been caught yet. Were those games impacted? Stop defending cheating. Patriot fans just want to attach, but you are defending cheating. Deflate a football a little and it is so much easier to throw, grip, hold onto. During cold weather, rainy weather, even good weather.

Remember Goodell destroying all of the videos/evidence? Who does something like that? Have we all forgotten? How many videos did he have? How long did it go on? How many games were influenced by it? What are the Patriot still doing that hasn’t been caught?

The wife that catches her husband cheating…well its usually not the first time.

  205. It was a snowstorm and the Pats also lost headset communication that day. You babies got anything better than that?

  206. Hey Carlos, why didn’t you cry foul in 2008…crying foul now just shows your ignorance.
I’m a Browns fan and you crying foul now against Tom Brady and the Patriots makes me think of you as what my neighbors dog always leaves in my front yard and it ain’t number one!!!

  207. Haters are gonna hate.
A full year suspension for what? Sucking when throwing deflated footballs. People seem to forget the Brady threw an interception with the deflated ball. Then he owned the colts D in the second half with regular inflated balls.

C’mob people. Deflated balls were the best thing to happen for other teams defenses. The Colts shot them selves in the foot. Do you know how nice the score would have been, for the Seahawks, if Brady was able to throw with under inflated balls? It would have been a repeat of their wonderful win against the Broncos.

But now, idiots have to make it an equal playing field in which to Brady has a chance to light up the field again. FYI- the majority of his interceptions were thrown towards the end of the season.

    ****
    Yeah someone like Damien Woody

  209. I would be willing to bet that this is 100% true and happened for other teams in clutch moments at Foxboro.

The Patriots organization has an absolute will to win. Belichick is the captain. Kraft lets the captain command his ship.

This is a great thing but so detrimental to the integrity of the game at the same time. There’s a fine line on what is legal in the game and what isn’t.

The Patriots will always walk the tightrope and everyone should but let’s be honest here, the evidence is piling up and the line that exists for the Patriots is ‘what can be proven against us’ … not what is within the rules.

    Dirty. Disgusting.

  210. And it just gets more stupid. If Arizona lost their headset communications, the Patriots would have to stop using theirs too. It’s the rule. I’m surprised at the idiocy. You must all be Jets fans. Hey, I have a bridge to sell all of you too.

  211. If any of you tool bags think YOUR teams have never been up to anything shady……Your naive or lying.Your whining and crying is pathetic. I notice a lot of you have multiple comments and on many different articles. Get a life. Go enjoy life, pull up your pants and turn off the computer.Face it,most of your teams flat out suck. Your frustration is showing. And someday, you’ll be defending your team, and good luck with that. Everybody is entitled to their own opinion, but you guys are low life turds. Your comments are stupid, albeit your own opinions, but they show how petty you are.

  212. Patriots some while ago were accused of illegally using a 2nd radio signal from coaches stadium box in headsets after the time framethe NFL allows. Similar to the spygate cheating incident where Kraft’s BFF Goodell disposed of evidence before any independent review could take place, Goodell’s ‘nothing to see here’ investigation was one the earliest accusations in the Belichic era, if memory serves.

Yet another revelation of radio chicanery shouldn’t any surprise with as many bodies as Goodell has buried for Robert Kraft, Goodell still being allowed to conduct any investigations should be the surprise.

This current phony investigation is bad theatre that Goodell and Kraft have had months to concoct.

Goodell: Bob, after I review the evidence we can’t hide or dump. I’ll issue some ridiculously low penalty say… 4 game Brady suspension we’ll any mention of Bill out so no accounting for priors, and you and Tom feign indignation then I’ll reduce it to 0-2 games based on how well the public buys this BS. Don’t worry I’ll pressure the media to spin this as a significant penalty, you buy off the rest with ads.

Kraft: Man, this is going be great! My acting is in top form after Hernandez’s trial.

  213. I believe Bill Walsh was the inventor of gameday headset “technical problems”. I have one of his books and he openly admits it.

Other teams have used the tactic over the years, as well. It’s no secret. No one should pretend that this is somehow only linked to NE.

I don’t understand why away teams wouldn’t bring their own communications system, anyway. A rock band travels with its own PA. A helmet communications system would be pretty basic for them to travel with.

  214. “I remember that game. Pats won 47-7 in the snow and the cardinals couldn’t get on the bus fast enough.

But your headset certainly would have won you the game champ.”

How well do you think cassel would have done with hand signals?

  215. “If any of you tool bags think YOUR teams have never been up to anything shady……Your naive or lying.Your whining and crying is pathetic.”

Wasnt the pats using the nfl to beat the jets over the headf over “tampering” with revis?

Stop being hypocrites AND sore winners.

  216. SnowplowGate-League authorized both teams to use plows to clear the field. No mention of using them to clear space for kickers, Patriots did it anyway and took the lead 3-0. Miami drove the field and got in position for a game-tying field goal. The officials OFFERED to have the snow plow clear a place for the Dolphins kicker and Don Shula REFUSED. Kicker missed, Pats won. No rules were broken, no penalties were assessed. If Don Shula is too much of an idiot to accept a reasonable compromise than it’s his own damn fault. BTW, anyone else remember the Mud Bowl, when Shula refused to put a tarp on the field in order to slow down the much faster Jets team? Or that time the Dolphins were penalized a draft pick because of Shula’s tampering? Look it up.

SpyGate-Filming from the wrong location on the field. 8 years ago.

CommunicationsGate-one accusation by one team in one game in the entire BB era. Snowy day in Foxboro affected all comm equipment. No one on the Cardinals mentioned it to anyone for 7 years until this past May. BTW, Cardinals lost 47-7.

McDanielsGate-Videotaping while HC in Denver? Investigated by the NFL, no punishments issued. “Goodell’s just helping out his friend Kraft” Yeah except Kraft doesn’t own the Broncos, and anyway, Goodell fined the Patriots $500,000 and a draft pick for videotaping, so this makes no sense.

InelligibleGate- 100% legal play. Previously used in a game by Detroit vs. Minnesota in week 6, which is where BB got the idea in the first place. No one accused Detroit of “cheating”. No one complained. Barely made the news. NE does it, it’s WW3.

DeflateGate- Footballs lost pressure due to cold and rain. PSIs of NE footballs were right where they were supposed to be once you take temp and moisture into account. Colts’ footballs lost less pressure because they had a significant amount of time to warm up and dry out before being measured. No unexplained pressure loss means no crime was committed.

BlountGate- you’re really stretching now. Blount deliberately got himself cut from Pittsburgh because he knew that New England was going to claim him? Of course, after he left Pittsburgh, Blount had to pass through waivers, and 31 other teams could have claimed him. There was no guarantee they wouldn’t do so.

GamblingGate-Seriously no idea what you’re talking about here

  217. As a Pat hater I remember that game well….They needed a win and a Dolphin loss to get in, the Cardinals didn’t want to get off the bus because of the snow….I would have to say, I have never witness a team not want to be playing a game more than Arizona did that day….playing for nothing in a snow storm….it was embarrassing, I believe the Pats messed with the headsets that day but that had nothing to do with who won the game…..I cursed at the tv all game due to the lack of effort….
