It’s probably not a coincidence that Robert Kraft’s tone changed when he was in the presence of his fellow owners.

And those business partners are clearly grateful he’s decided to stand down.

Texans owner Bob McNair, who had already come out in support of commissioner Roger Goodell, was the first to offer his thanks to Kraft for today’s decision to not appeal the penalties given to his team for #DeflateGate.

“I think that’s indicative of what Robert tries to do,” McNair said in a statement, via Ben Volin of the Boston Globe. “He thinks about the league, and I think that’s the smart thing to do, so I’m pleased.”

There’s probably about 30 other owners who feel the same way, as the weight of this story threatened to drag down an entire offseason.
