No worries in Washington about DeSean Jackson skipping OTAs

If voluntary means voluntary, it shouldn’t matter what a player does with his own time.

So Washington president Bruce Allen said he wasn’t worried about wide receiver DeSean Jackson skipping OTAs last week.

Jackson was apparently spotted at an NBA playoff game and at a rapper party in California, and that’s the kind of thing that gets people talking.

That’s up to each player,” Allen said, via John Keim of ESPN.com. “DeSean Jackson will be in shape and will be ready to go. That’s not a concern. . . .

“The priority is to have all 90 healthy and make sure we’re getting ready. DeSean knows what our playbook is. He’ll be in town later this week and I’m sure he’ll catch up quick.”

Jackson was excused by the team, and was a regular attendee last year. So they’re not going to worry about starting something with one of their most productive players for choosing his right to define the word voluntary.
