Talib knows nothing about any football irregularities in New England

Broncos cornerback Aqib Talib spent more than a season with the Patriots. Which makes Talib an obvious person to ask about whether anything fishy was happening with the footballs when he was in New England.

Reporters asked Talib about it on Tuesday, and Talib said he knows nothing about it.

“I had no idea,” Talib said. “When I was there, Tom [Brady] didn’t go around telling people about his footballs and stuff like that. I don’t know what happened. That’s New England’s problem. We’ve got enough problems to worry about in Denver.”

It remains very smart for players who will be facing Brady to say little or nothing about the situation, because the Patriots and Brady will be back with a vengeance once the season starts (and once Brady’s suspension ends). The last thing any of their opponents should do is give the Patriots and Brady even more of a reason to be motivated to win big -- like they routinely did in the weeks of the 2007 after Spygate emerged.
