The Lions signed Lance Moore this offseason and they may not be done reaching into offensive coordinator Joe Lombardi’s past for wide receiver help.

Lombardi worked for the Saints before joining the Lions in 2014 and Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press reports that wide receiver Robert Meachem will work out for the Lions on Tuesday. He’ll be joining veteran Brad Smith at the team’s facility.

Meachem was an effective target in New Orleans from 2009-2011, catching 129 passes and 20 touchdowns, but he has only 37 catches over the last three seasons. One of those years was spent in San Diego, but Meachem returned to the Saints for the 2014 season and was unable to recapture his spot in the lineup.

The Lions are still working to settle the depth chart at receiver behind Calvin Johnson and Golden Tate. Corey Fuller, Jeremy Ross, Ryan Broyles and T.J. Jones join Moore as members of the roster in the mix for those jobs.

Josina Anderson of ESPN also reports that running back Ben Tate will work out for the team on Tuesday and Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun reports that Daniel Thomas will also be auditioning. The Lions have Joique Bell, Ameer Abdullah and Theo Riddick set for backfield roles, but Bell’s recovery from Achilles and knee surgeries may have them interested in adding another body for camp work.
