The Jets had former Saints tackle Charles Brown in for a tryout during this week’s minicamp and it seems they liked what they saw.

The team announced Friday that they have signed Brown to their 90-man roster. With no more offseason work for the Jets, he’ll get his first full practices in with the team when they report to training camp this summer.

While Brown will have some catching up to do in regard to the offense, he won’t have to worry about getting familiar with the team’s home stadium after spending last season with the Giants. Brown signed with the Giants after four years with the Saints, who picked him in the second round of the 2010 draft and put him in the starting lineup at left tackle to start the 2013 season.

Brown struggled in the role and was eventually benched in favor of Terron Armstead. He’ll be vying for a backup tackle role with the Jets, who have D’Brickashaw Ferguson and Breno Giacomini set to start at left and right tackle, respectively.
