Kyle Williams’s arrow “pointing up in all directions” after healthy offseason

Bills defensive tackle Kyle Williams has usually found himself recovering from surgery during the offseason, but 2015 represented a departure from that trend.

Williams dealt with a knee injury last season, but only missed one game and didn’t require any visits to surgeons once the season concluded. That’s allowed him to focus on the new defense being installed under head coach Rex Ryan and on the new arrivals to the roster, both of which have left him as optimistic about the year to come as Bills fans have been.

“My arrow’s pointing up in all directions,” Williams said, via the Buffalo News. “I’m excited about it. I’m excited about the year and everything that’s in front of us.”

The switch to Ryan will necessitate some structural changes to what was the league’s fourth-ranked defense in 2014, but Ryan’s already predicted the team will finish No. 1 this time around. While he doesn’t share the head coach’s focus on being the top-ranked defense, Williams knows that “it’s important that we’re really, really good on defense” and his continued health would be a boost to their chances of achieving that goal.
