“No change” in indefinitely suspended LB Daryl Washington’s status

Cardinals inside linebacker Daryl Washington hasn’t played since Week 17 of the 2013 season due to an indefinite suspension because of multiple violations of the league’s substance-abuse policy.

Washington was eligible to apply for reinstatement in March and said he had planned to do so in April. However, he still faces discipline from the league regarding his domestic-violence incident from May 2014. Per league spokesman Greg Aiello via Mike Jurecki of Fox Sports 910 Phoenix, there has been “no change” in Washington’s status, and there is “nothing further to report.”

Coach Bruce Arians has already said talk of Washington is a “waste of breath,” and the team isn’t counting on him for the upcoming season as he likely faces another multi-game ban. The Cardinals have Kevin Minter and Sean Weatherspoon penciled in as their starting inside linebackers.
