C.J. Wilson released from hospital, “in very good spirits”

While no one knows at the moment what it means for his football career, C.J. Wilson is at least out of the hospital.

According to Adam Caplan of ESPN, the Buccaneers cornerback was released from the hospital Friday after losing two fingers in a fireworks accident and is “in very good spirits.”

Wilson had at least two surgeries to repair the damage to his hand, losing the middle and index finger.

His father said last week he was simply grateful his son was alive, and any concerns about his football career were secondary.

Wilson’s under contract this year with the Bucs for $585,000, though that’s not guaranteed.
