Usually when a guy is drafted at a certain level and is on a cheap rookie contract, someone will take a chance on him.

No one took that chance on Ace Sanders Monday.

According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, the former Jaguars wide receiver was not claimed on waivers, making him a free agent able to sign with any team.

The Jags cut the 2013 fourth-rounder on Friday, parting ways with a guy who caught 51 passes as a rookie, but only caught six last year. He was also suspended four games for violating the league’s substance abuse policy.

The fact no one elected to claim his contract (at the league minimums the next two years) at a time when you can carry 90 players on the roster might not be the best sign for his future employment.
