The secondary market for NFL tickets means you can get into nearly any game, if you’re willing to pay for it.
But for the chance to pay face value, a group of Seahawks fans lined up a day early for the opportunity.
According to Bob Condotta of the Seattle Times, fans started lining up early Sunday morning for the chance to get their hands on the last of the team’s 1,700 single-game tickets for $62 each.
The sale starts today at 10 a.m., and fans were supposed to begin lining up at 6 p.m. Sunday for wristbands to designate their place in line, so they could go home and sleep. But with so many fans showing up early, a line formed, and there was some yelling when some tried to cut in that line.
“It’s been very orderly, very peaceful,’’ said Bernard Jones, the uncle of Seahawks running back Robert Turbin.
Of course, that was early in the day, since he was near the head of the line.
The Seahawks are successful on the field, and have created a passionate following that makes people want to stand on a sidewalk on one of the hottest days of the summer just to get in the door.
