Jaguars sign wide receiver Greg Jenkins

The Jaguars dropped a receiver and returner when they cut Ace Sanders and they brought the roster back to 90 men on Friday with the addition of another player who fills the same roles.

The team announced that they have signed Greg Jenkins to fill the hole opened by Sanders. The move reunites Jenkins with Jaguars offensive coordinator Greg Olson, who held the same job with the Raiders for the last two years.

Jenkins saw action in six games for the Raiders during the 2013 season and saw most of his time as a returner. He returned 10 kickoffs for 22.1 yards a pop and averaged 8.2 yards on six punt returns. He was waived/injured at the end of camp last year and later returned to the team as a member of the practice squad.

Sanders was the primary punt returner in Jacksonville the last two years and Jenkins will likely jump into the competition to replace him when the Jags open training camp.
